Financial Analyst

Summary:

The Financial Analyst reports to the CFO and will be responsible for providing business analysis and expertise for NEXDINE and its sister company XENDELLA. The position has significant visibility to the senior suite and operations and sales leadership providing financial information and analysis in both written and presentation form. This position requires a strong analytical background with the ability to analyze and consolidate financial results for reporting to leadership. In addition, the applicant should be a self-starter, able to demonstrate sound judgement and versatility in decision making and problem solving.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze historical and current financial data to understand the company’s financial condition
  • Evaluate capital projects ensuring investments meet company return criteria.
  • Develop predictive financial models to support organizational decision making on investment capital, working capital and overhead allocations
  • Developing / manage financial models that forecast business outcomes and profits
  • Analyze processes and purchases to identify gaps that can improve profit margins
  • Establish benchmarks for financial processes in all areas of the business to include retail and subsidy revenue and labor, food and direct expenses
  • Track current financial data to alert leadership and operations to significant variances in the business
  • Create written reports and/or presentations that enable management teams to make strategic decisions to meet business goals
  • Track and analyze startup costs in new and expanding business
  • Develop forecasting tools to automate financial data analysis.
  • Studying industry-specific business trends and research data
  • Assist CFO in evaluating acquisition targets and perform due diligence during acquisition process
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other office equipment.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires auditory & visual skills and the ability to follow written & oral instructions and procedures.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance. MBA a plus.
  • 1-3 years of financial analyst support related experience.
  • Strong written and verbal skills - must have the ability to work with senior suite, operations and sales leadership and finance and accounting groups
  • Must have experience with Workday Enterprise Management system.
  • Experience with Great Plains general ledger system a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Superior excel experience and skills required.
